Description
Four portraits I did for to represent her characters. The portraits are going to be used on the back cover of her book.
All of these characters are Orphaïms (avatars, keepers) of different elements. From left to right:
Linkphaer - Orphaïm of earth
Ilithye - Orphaïm of water
Nazalian - Orphaïm of earth
Hashrei - Orphaïm of air

these are not my characters, and as you see they are not really the representation of four elements we commonly use. If you wish to know more about them you need to browse gallery and maybe ask her some questions

Fire exists but I had to choose 4 main characters of this volume and Fire is not one of them, but its turn will come ^^ This is a novel I'll self publish at the end of the year but I'm afraid that it will be available only in French. Thanks for your interest anyway ^^

I think I saw some of your art before, but this one truly impressed me I guess. Your technique is admirable, thats true, but I like more the feeling these portraits give of - those are some confident, healthy proud people. Its pleasant to look at them and somewhat the approach on shading, lightning and pallet comes of like...hmmm, I think strongly on mahagony wood.

Lovely! However, Ilithyes hair is much bluer than in the "Queen of the Blue" picture you did of her, is that done on purpose?

I wanted to emphasize the face, so I painted her hair darker. And I wanted to give deep shadows to the portraits, and on the one where Ilithye sits on her horse she is in direct sun

I can understand that, but her hair seems to be a completely different shade of blue. Does her hair colour change depending on the light? does ti act like water? That may be an excuse for changing colour ^^'

Her hair color doesn't change, in my mind they look darker because of the light as Ao said, but I like your idea *_* That's pretty interesting to have an Orphaïm of the water with hair color changing like water. Very good
