Cultural conflict
Old couples at my place mostly kiss with their noses. Pecks/light kiss on the cheeks/sorta like that. When they saw young couples kiss with their lips touching, they felt sooo weird o.0
I also believe Qunari don't encourage intimate kiss/deep kiss, which may cause arousing and lead to unassigned sex. So they teach their young ones giving brief kiss/pecks when necessary
