A new picture this time. I finished painting it this night. Kusaka & Akizuki san from "Fuyu no Semi". I consider this anime a real masterpiece regardless of its genre. "Fuyu no Semi" brings to mind Shakespearean "Romeo & Juliet". The same story. For instance, the hostility between Montague & Capulet can be correlated with the war between bakushin & Imperialists which prevents the protagonists' happiness. Almost identical suicides at the end. It's the same tragedy. Well, the only difference is that there isn't Juliet in "Fuyu no Semi", but it's not so important, just two people who really love each other in both stories.I'm overwhelmed by this anime. I've already seen it 5 times. And every time after watching it I feel depressed. But I just can't help watching it over & over again. I must be a real masochist.

Yeah. As for me I like everything about this anime. I think that Akizuki & Kusaka's story is even more dramatic than Romeo & Juliet's one.

Well, I'm not surprised at all. I myself was on the verge of tears especially when Akizuki san was planning to commit seppuku and when Kusaka read his letter. The last episode was so moving and sad.

Yes, it's really SAD.But I love this anime so much. Actually, it is my favourite anime now. I think I've already seen it 8 times or even more.And I'm sure I'll watch it again. I'm also crazy about the ending song by Morikava Toshiyuki.

It would have been a pity if you hadn't watched it. As for me, I liked the first episode too. Maybe because I love Bakumatsu, it's my favourite period in Japanese history. You know, I think that Fuyu no Semi is not just the best yaoi, but best anime in general regardless of the genre.It's a real masterpiece of anime.
