Same here, can't wait for the holidays. Wonderful artwork, as usual, reminding me of the awesome late-autumn to early-winter light.

Holidays are great, but winter itself is a very scary season. Here in Russia there is still a high risk of freezing to death if you're poor, that's why we are trying to get prepared.

And thank you for the nice words!Β

Oh, I can't even presume to begin to understand how it is to face such extreme weather as in your country. I've seen a documentary once about Yakutsk and I definitely felt bad for thinking winter, or even warm weather, are great, when for other people they bring nothing but suffering. But I guess in the end it's also the price we pay, as species, for overpopulation, evolution and so on. Still, really disheartening and saddening to know people die because of this.

Entirely my pleasure, thank you for sharing your wonderful works with us.

And I totally agree with you here. Sorry by the way, if this sounded like I was complaining, no way.Β  I myself would prefer to stay in cold rather then in hot surroundings, but we all feel uncomfortable in November, cause the temperatures drop extremely low and our bodies try to get used to it. But Yakutsk is extremely cold even in terms of russian weather, so yeah, my conditions here are much better for sure)))

No problem whatsoever, and what's so bad about complaining? No person can be expected to always be grateful for what they have and ignore they wish it could be better, even if others have it, maybe, worse. It's human and totally understandable, so no worries, I can relate.
And couldn't agree more, for me as well autumn is the best, especially in October. I too prefer cold - at least I can layer clothes -, but ofc it's as you say: having to get used to it, especially when the whole infrastructure - pipes, boilers, even power plants - start malfunctioning due to cold or lack of funds. Especially in Russia, where otherwise nice, kind peopleΒ  - from what I've read and heardΒ  - suffer so much because of politicians and corruption. Or maybe I'm biased, but I do have this vision of Russians being very friendly and faithful to those they consider close to them, and I do love your whole culture, especially your wonderful folk tales, legends and traditions.

Thank you so much for your kindness! And yes, there are kind and nice people everywhere in the world, in Russia too, but as I am russian and see this culture from inside, I feel that our main feature is apathy and laziness I'm not sure if this is due to the long winter seasons, when there is little to be done and you can only wait for active summer days while telling each other fairy tales in order not to get bored))

I know exactly what you mean about living among one's own people and seeing their main flaws, it's the same for me here among Romanian fellow citizens. I guess it's true what they say, the grass always does seem to be greener on the other side of the fence And yeah, Romanians are with you guys there in terms of apathy and laziness then. Oh well, no forest without its deadwood as we say around here, or no flock without a black sheep.

"no forest without its deadwood" - I should remember that such a nice saying. I can't see that the "grass is greener" somewhere else, because when I was travelling I came to a conclusion that I am my companion everywhere, and the "color of grass" is getting dull no matter where you are when your own soul powers are depleted. Thank you so much for this very interesting conversation!

I know what you mean, I also expected many times before seeing a new place to have some sort of revelation, only to realise once there thst the expectation was actually higher than the reality. Life and people are mostly the same wherever one goes, but I guess that by seeing greener grass on the other side the brain gives us hope for something to strive towards to. Maybe not the best mechanism of motivation, since mostly it ends with disappointment, but better thsn nothing I guess.
Thank you also for the discussion, it was great getting to talk to you more and getting to know more of your ideas. It's awesome for me to know people like you are still out there, faith in humanity better now

And yes, I totally agree with you here, travelling is communicating and receiving ideas cause we see how other people deal with their lives and we can learn other ways to deal with ours, that's why its valuable!

Question:

If you step through it, will you be teleported to the beautys of winterwonderland?
Or are you just falling to your death, miserable and betrayed by your expectations?

This is a really nice image! Really good design, very evocative.
Love the dimensionality of the rocks, the brushwork on the clouds, subtle mist effect in foreground.
