Very nice, very "Final Fantasy" - the spirits of the Earth flying into the void of space. Can be interpreted in many differing ways, but has a definite emotional, as well as intellectual impact. Something to contemplate and absorb.

I just made a fractal in Apophysis and then picked a gradient I liked, did a bit of painting over it and smoothing it in GIMP, added the planet and the black background and voila!

Well, the story is that ether is this invisible stuff between the planets and if you could see it the planets would drag the ether around clumping it up behind them as they revolve around the sun. (They used this theory for a long time to try and explain why light can always be measured at the same speed no matter where people tried to measure it from, until Einstein came along and explained it with relativity)

So, it's not really attacking, the Earth is pulling the Ether along in a cosmic dance This picture is kind of like "what would it look like if Ether existed and you could see it as colours." At least that's what I was trying to go for.
