Originally I just scribled that stone creature, and as always I was posting WIPs in the public hoping to get early feedback, and Arne ( [link] - you may know him for his huge brain dump on his website, his work on Cortex Command, the HIB Artwork or his art tutorial) was asking me "Who is he engaging?". He suggested me to give the whole thing a context, to tell a story with it. At first I was reluctant because it basically trippled the scope of the piece, but boy, it was worth it. Maybe my best piece by now.18 colors.

it's nice but the way you shaded all the stones made them look less like stones.The hands of the rock creature don't look like they'd be shapes of stones. the left foot looks too small from the position it's in. The shading looks unfinished and off in the the rocks and the grass(for ex: the grass doesn't look like grass and that green ball of grass looks like a green rock and the rocks look more like liquid instead of rocks) That dark blue you use you should make it a tad bit darker. It's a very original idea nevertheless

This is a great piece and looks like it took you a long time to work on. It makes me think of the rock giants from Never Ending Story. ^.^
