Description
Felt like doing something tropico related for once again
Credits go to everyone who's work i used, large numbers of shipbucket stuff, obviously most still have the US Flag which is false because tropico.
Lore wise:
The Tropican Navy is divided into 4 "Fleets" as well as multiple squadrons of ships dedicated to different tasks.
The main Fleet is obviously the Carriergroup consisting of the Simon Bolivar as well as the Battlecruiser Juan Martín Alvarado and its three escort cruisers.
The Carrier itself is an upgraded Essex Class bought after it was stricken off the registry and intended to be scrapped.
It has
-two Squadrons of 8 A-4's that act as allround fighter squadrons (Recon, CAS, Air Superiority, bombing etc.)
-one Squadron of A-1 Skyraiders with two family sized FAC and SAR versions.
-one detached segment of 3 Anti Submarine Skyraiders
-one detachment of 3 S-2 Tracker Anti Submarine Planes (that are upgraded for wiretapping and photo recon)
-two E2 Tracer Airborne Radars
-6 Fleet Air Defense F-8's
-8 H-34 Helicopters for Transport Duties (might add 2-3 british SAR upgrades)
The other three fleets are the mobile headquarter ships of tropicos three marine task forces, of which one or two might circle around the island at any moment to respond to rebel threats. Attached are groups of 10 patrol boats, a monitor and 3 squads of 3 PBR's, for coastline operations and river patrols.
Each LST carries 8 Higgins Boats as well as two LSM(3) tank landing boats. A part of the inner hull of each of the HQ Ships has been turned into a mobile hospital to provide first aid to marines wounded by insurgents.
Next up are the 4 Destroyer Squadrons tasked with patrolling tropicos domestic waters, of which two have upgraded electronics to make sure at least one ship with functioning radar is at sea at all times.
They monitor traffic on the surface and act as tropicos coast guard.
There are two rapid response groups of 6 vessels each with 45 man attack platoons and heavy support boats, these are tasked with taking care of heavy resistance when a landward attack is deemed to hard to execute.
The rest of the vessels are various support craft and oilers, as well as tropicos three Gato Class Sub's which are often used by tropico's intelligence agency.
The last unit to note are the 5 Squadrons of Elco-, or Torpedo boats: these are tasked with intercepting any hostile ships that enter tropican waters and carry 4 heavy torpedo's each. While deemed outdated by most forces around the world, tropican sailors have outmanouvered US Coastguard Vessels on Manouvers at least twice during multiple exercises.
