I remember the time,
You first caught my eye;
I was shocked, intrigued,
And a little shy.

From that moment on,
You were in my thoughts;
Seeing you in my head,
In little shots.
__
Occasionally we spoke,
But not much at all.
Besides quick, innocent looks,
Or a chat in the hall.

If someone had told me,
What was soon to come.
I would have laughed,
And thought they were dumb.
__
Then came grade 12;
You were on my free.
I was happy,
We spoke alot, then I began to see...

See that you were the one,
The one for me.

Then came my lucky day,
There was a dance.
I thought to myself:
"Here is my chance."

The eve before,
I was up all night.
Not a wink of sleep,
Through 'til morning light.

But then I found out,
You had no ride.
So I offered;
And I was not denied.

The dance went great,
We had fun.
But it soon ended,
And the drive home begun.

It was then which we spoke,
Of our thoughs and our plans.
But I asked a question,
And your decision today, still stands.
__
We were now together,
And I felt great;
Extremely happy;
An ecstatic state.

My dream had come true,
I was a happy guy.
Happy enough,
I could have cried.
__
So far we've had
Lots of good times.
And here's to many more,
As our relationship climbs.

In these times together,
a feeling has grown.
A new one inside,
Like I've never known.

A feeling I know,
You too have felt.
A feeling that makes,
Our young hearts melt.
__
I'm happy to be yours,
And I hope, you too.
but one thing's for sure:
I'll always love you.
