Description Another memorial sprite. Not in memory of Theodore Roosevelt, the 26th president of the United States, the Rough Rider, hunter of bears, responsible for the name Teddybear, when he refused to shoot a bearcub (he had no trouble shooting its mother though). This is a memorial for the great, late, Robin Williams, who committed suicide on August the 11th of 2014.

"But dude, I see Theodore Roosevelt. Just because Robin portrayed him in the Night at the Museum movies, doesn't make this Robin Williams." I. don't. give. a. dam. (comment the reference, if you get it). Yesterday I went to see Night at the Museum 3: Secret of the Tomb, Robin's last on screen performance (also Mickey Rooney's, but he's from before my time). I was touched by every moment he spend in the film, which was, in my opinion, not as great as its two predecessors. It really felt like the end, not of the series, but of him. And it was okay. I stayed during the ending credits of course, and the movie was dedicated in loving memory to Micky Rooney. I was like.. 'Wha? Whozzat, where's Robin Williamz?' (I was not actually drunk). Then his name appeared, along with the message: the magic never ends. It moved me, which made me decide to make this sprite.

Now why did I decide on Roosevelt, and not one of his many other great roles? Well, to be honest, I haven't really seen that much else of him. Somehow I skipped Flubber and Mrs. Doubtfire wasn't much of a hit here. I only found out later that he had voiced Genie in Aladdin, of which I have seen the Dutch dub as a kid. This was the first I really saw of him and I loved it. I loved the way he smiled, the way he acted. So that's why, now you know.

Enjoy my sprite of the wax statue used in the films. Now take a moment to relax and think of how Robin Williams has changed our lives. Thank you.

It's the truth actually. He refused to shoot a bear because of the cubs.. or something..

Yeah. I believe he refused to shoot a cub or something. Some people say he did kill its mom though, so that kinda defeats the purpose

Too close? What do you mean exactly?

The color pallet is too close. Like its light brown, and a very very slightly light brown. Its hard to see the exact detail of the sprite. Idk, is this clear

Yeah, I get yah, sorry for not getting it before
Oh wells.. I guess it's just more prominent because it's a bigger sprite, since it doesn't differ much from my regular works..

I was about to say the shading looks weird, but then I read the description and found out it's a wax statue. So it works

A Mrs Doubtfire sprite would be epic and funny, but probably not so easy to make with FE bases...good job and Robin Williams was awesome. Real shame he suffered from depression like that, I guess that proves money/fame can't buy happiness. Did you know he was a Legend of Zelda fan? Named his daughter Zelda.

And she's quite pretty

You think the shading is off? Where do you think that's the case? On the entire thing or just a part? Shading is never my strong side you know

Thanks

Mostly the horse. The shades are too close together so it looks kinda like it's not there. But it has a waxy look so you're good.

I used to have that problem too...if it's hard to tell theres shading when you zoom out to 100%, then chances are you need to play with the colors, make them darker/lighter.

Funny, I pretty much used the colors that were already there on the sprite, but I do see your point Thank you anyways
