What is this and why does it have a name? And why did I upload this?
Well to answer the last question first: Because I made this. This month's tutorial taught us how to draw a witch! And while I love simoneferriero's art-style, I couldn't help but that their tutorial and turn it into something I would like. Biggest difference? This one doesn't have a nose
Now back to the why this has a name and is not just called "Witch". As if I could be creative enough to draw an original character like this. Nah. When I saw the tutorial would teach me how to draw a witch, my mind immediately went to one of the cutest-designed witches that I could think of: Wendalyn from the MySims games. MySims was a short-lived spin-off series of The Sims, mostly centered on the Wii and DS consoles. It had several entries that all went in a different direction. The last one even jumped consoles with a release on Wii, DS, Xbox360 and Playstation 3. Sadly that was also my least favourite of the ones I played. And I played all Wii games but the Party and Racing titles.
Back to Wendalyn. Sadly she only appears in two games: The original MySims game, but only the PC version, and MySims Agents (which was my favourite). She comes from a big family of witches and excels in potion- and elixir making. Not that those qualities are important for MySims, but it gives the character more backstory. I just love her design, so I decided to make her following the tutorial. And I have to say.. it turned out pretty decently!
I used a grey pencil for the outlines, erased some to colour them in with coloured pencils and used a black fineliner for the parts where black and black overlapped (on her gloves and hat), to increase the visibility.
