One of my favorite things right now is a show on TBS called "People of Earth"
Basically, it follows the members of a group called Starcrossed in the small town of Beacon, which is a therapy support group for people who have had encounters with aliens. The main character, Ozzie Graham, is a journalist trying to find out the truth behind his mysterious memories and alien encounter.

It’s honestly really funny, but also suspenseful and kind of creepy, and it's written by the people who created The Office and Parks & Rec. You always get the feeling that there's something you don't know, and it's really exciting to discover things as a viewer. There's really great representation of body types, race, gender, and sexuality, and none of the characters are treated purely as fodder for jokes. They're all in-depth and in development and flawed and just are portrayed really well. There's also a lot of stuff on alien lore so that's pretty neat, and it's a really pleasing show when it comes to setting and color too.

The three aliens, Jeff the Grey, Jonathan Walsh (a reptilian), and Don the White, are stationed at Beacon and handle all the business for the town. They interact with the humans and the dynamics that form are really interesting! (Also Don is a cinnamon roll that must be protected at all costs. Basically one of his jobs is to appear to people and give them what they need, whether it be company, help with a task, or physical intimacy. He's an entirely selfless being that is rendered speechless the first time a human asks him about himself, and apologizes when a drink is spilled on him for 'being too close to the spill'. He's started to become more assertive and I really hope he gets to develop more as the show continues!)

It's currently on it's second season, and so far the new episodes have been great. TBH It hasn't gotten all that popular, but I hope it does. It's a genuinely good show that combines action, mystery, and comedy really well, and I highly recommend it.

(Also, the line "You are special" Is something the aliens say to each of their abductees~)
