Yeah, I'm kinda into bugs (if didn't pick that up from my screen name).
and you're right about their shyness. This species isn't the most comfortable when being observed. They prefer to stay hidden.

i like insects to an extent, once it's not threatening to me i cool, but i dont like cockroaches at all... they crawl my blood.

There's a little too much tinted light coming in from above & behind in this shot to see if the male's signature orange band is present bellow it's eyes.
Cockroaches don't have the nicest of behaviours for co-habitation with humans, but they're better than some others that would really like to move in with us... the fleas, lice, bedbugs & their bigger cousins with the kiss of death, the Triatominas (to name just a few).

lol... they're sooo adorable, yup, this one was only giving me his/her backside to snap till my husband came around and she (i so say...lol) decided to allow me to photograph her front... up to now i have no idea what my hubbie told her...hehehehe, little diva.
