Description
Your Tokota crosses paths with an infant (animal or human) that is too young to remember where it came from or who it's parents are. Your Tokota must choose to either take mercy and care for and protect it until the parents can be located, or abandon it to nature.
Illi never quite imagined herself being in the current situation she found herself in now. She was now the adoptive "mother" of two orphaned bear cubs, Bongo and Moose. It had been a little over a week since she came across the twin brothers huddled in a cave all alone. Though Illi never quite figured out what came of their mother, she had an idea of what might've happened. Regardless the twins quickly came to see her as their "mother" and never left from her sight. At first she was a bit unsure of being a mother to two unruly bear boys, after all bears and Tokota's were almost natural sworn enemies. However it didn't take long for the twins to grapple their large paws around her heart strings and she quickly fell in love. Even though it had only been about a week since they entered her life she was already starting to see them as her own.
Thankfully Jerry and Iki had been quite supportive and also gladly accepted the cubs into their family. The problem was that the rest of the pack didn't quite share this same level of acceptance. Ichiro, though a bit unsure at first, quickly grew to love the cubs and see them as younger brothers. Her mother Ila, had also been quite supportive and often helped her keep an eye out on them. Ilo and Iku were slowly warming up to their presence but were still hesitant at being around them for very long. Ike still wouldn't have much to do with them and most of the time just ignored them. Though the few times when the cubs would do something especially funny Illi would notice a small smile dance across his face before disappearing. He was much too prideful to let anyone know that a couple of bear cubs were growing on him. Ivalon on the other hand completely disdained the cubs and often growled at them if they came too close for comfort, this often was returned with a quick snip from herself. Unfortunately the biggest problem had so far been Ikya. Ikya absolutely hated the young cubs and couldn't figure out why her mother had taken such great pity on something that to her would've normally been lunch. Ikya had never been overly fond of bears and found them to be a great nuisance. To her, her mother and pack mates were acting insane letting the cubs join their pack and even going so far as to treat them as their own kind. She knew it was a matter of time that the cubs grew up and realized what they really were and turned on her mother and the rest of them. Unfortunately for her every time she brought it up to anyone, and especially to Illi, she was quickly responded with a large growl from her mother and a long lecture about compassion. Illi just hoped that one day Ikya would grow to see that they were all not so different after all and the importance of coming together sometimes even if it was with an animal that they might most of the time see as "enemies."
Also since the cubs had come to join the pack Illi, with the help of Iki and Jerry, implemented a new "no hunting/killing bears" policy. A lot of the pack was still getting used to this new rule but respected their leader’s wishes enough to abide by it; even Ikya had enough respect for her mother to reluctantly agree.
Because bears and Tokota's had always been enemies growing up Illi had always thought that they must be extremely different from one another. This wasn't just her thinking but the thinking of almost every Tokota. However she was quickly learning how similar to each they really were. The cubs seemed to not act much differently from Tokota pups, with minor differences here and there.. Other than a few other minor differences Illi for the most part didn't treat them any differently than she would have a Tokota pup. One thing she did quickly learn though was just how much the cubs ate. They were almost always hungry it seemed and Illi struggled to find enough food for them. At first she hunted small game for them like rabbits and ducks but quickly learned that they needed a lot more. She soon began bringing whole carcasses of deer which they gladly devoured. It wasn't long before Illi realized that she couldn't do all the hunting for them and would have to teach them how to do this themselves. Their first hunting venture was a complete failure. The bear cubs were too rowdy and loud scaring off anything within a 5 mile radius. Their next hunting expedition was a bit more successful where as Illi much more strict with them and even was got Moose to quite down long enough to track a rabbit. His over eagerness along with his brother outdid themselves however and they quickly scared it away. Though once they got the scent of fresh game stuck in their nostrils they became much more focused on the lesson at hand. It wasn't until their third hunting lesson however that they both were able to successfully track and kill their own game, much to Illi's surprise. Iki and Jerry also occasionally took them out on hunting adventures and even one day taught them both how to fish, much to the cub’s enjoyment. Overall Illi found herself becoming quite fond of her bear cubs and even grew to love them as her own. She was happy she stumbled across them when she did, though their circumstance was quite unfortunate, she knew now that she would never let anything else bad ever happen to them again and would always be there to watch over them.
