Despite his bright red hair and his place in the Blistering Roses gang, Atsuya is surprisingly very polite and good-natured. He tends to unconsciously adopt a brotherly *cough*motherly *cough* attitude with his friends and gang. Atsuya can also be painfully honest but sincere so don’t take it the wrong way. He’s a very hardworking kid and keeps a strong loyalty to those he trust. He always has a great desire to learn new things plus he is a complete weapon loving loser and will try to ask you to show him your weapon.
Unfortunately, his kindness causes him to be quite a pushover to his friends, and he is often criticized for being too trusting or too generous to them. Although Atsuya is definitely brave and willing to take chances, usually he is pretty reckless turning to his intuition before deeply planning things. This is the result of his naive willingness to take dangerous risks to help out his friends. If he wasn't able to give his all to help, he tends to blame himself for several misfortunes.

Background Information

Atsuya grew up with a small family in the monotoned city of Silverlight. He lived with his cheerful mother who worked as an Language and Literature teacher and his genius younger brother by two years. His mother was single but very loving and always encouraged them to excel in school. Although they followed the rules strictly, once they were in the safety of their home, his mother would tell them about colors. The colors that she would sometimes see in the deep alleys of their gray city and the stories of a time when the world looked brighter. Of course, both kids assumed the stories were as fake as the fictional books his mother kept around the house . Although she didn’t particularly agree with the Gray Order, she was very careful to keep her boys save. The only problem that the two boys ever faced was … their mother’s dread cooking.

Fortunately throughout their childhood, Atsuya and his brother both did well in their studies but due to Atsuya’s shyness and small frame, he was often mistaken as the younger brother. While Atsuya excelled in literature and language like his mother, his brother excelled in both math and science.During his childhood, Atsuya always complied with his little adventurous brother even though he would much rather stay inside to read his mother’s books. He would often fall trick to being apart of his brother’s schemes to cause trouble and excitement in the city that he called boring and suffocating, but Atsuya never hated spending time with his brother.

At the age of sixteen and fourteen, the two brothers lose their mother. It was a normal day but she returned home acting oddly and weirder than usual. They could easily tell she was lying when she said she was fine but as she was making dinner, she suddenly collapses, coughing a weird bright liquid into her hand. They were unaware that she was coughing up blood and were stunned by the odd liquid. Unsure of what to do, Atsuya called the Gray Order who came immediately, taking their mother away with promises to take care of her.

With no other relatives, they were sent to live at a boarding school to continue their education. Although Atsuya continued to believe it was an accident and that their mother was in great care, his brother hated the Gray Order for taking her away thus beginning his increase rebellious and trouble making ways. Atsuya, while trying to handle his rowdy brother, also began to have thoughts to join the military in the future. He became very busy studying hard and trying to improve his weak physique. During his research, Atsuya gained a new fascination for weapons. It started out as curiosity, but eventually he developed a great knowledge about them. They reminded him of the books that his mother had, the ones all about fictional adventures with ninjas, knights, and spies. He was awed by the strength someone could gain since he was always on the weaker side.

One night, his brother almost misses curfew and before Atsuya could scold him, he was grabbed immediately and told that they needed to run away. Confused, Atsuya resisted a bit before spotting the the hair under his brother’s hood. He was infected. Scared his little brother would crumple into sickness like his mother, he complied and began follow his brother. During the rush, his brother tried to explain what happened and where they were going but before they could escape, they were confronted by official police attempting to take his brother. Due to Atsuya’s lack of strength, the police easily won and Atsuya blacked out as his brother was ripped away from him.

Later, Atsuya wakes up in a hospital where a strict official was waiting to explain why his brother’s dangerous behavior was risking the city’s peaceful order and so he needed to be contained. Acknowledging Atsuya as an obedient citizen, they recommended him to continue on with life. This situation left him in shock. It was too sudden, his brother was gone overnight and he regretted it ever since. Without his brother, Atsuya saw no use to joining the military and keeping his grades up so instead so he settled for a job at a small shop.

It was almost a year, when eventually a suspicious customer arrives acting oddly at the store. Without thought of the obvious consequences, Atsuya helped the customer out and just the next day, he discovers the unusual bright color in his eye. Instead of feeling afraid or depressed, he felt relieved and hope. He took it as a sign to look for the group his brother had mentioned before with hopes of getting revenge against the Gray Order and discovering what happened to his family.
