Thank you! I had to lighten it up a little (the reference photo was a little under developed) but Josie's owner likes it (and I was pleased with the results). She had me do her other 2 horses.

Wow, this is really well done!!! I love the deeper shadows. It makes him/her look 3D, as if I could reach out and touch him/her.

Thanks! I had to lighten the shadows a little, since the photo was a little too dark, but I liked how it turned out...and so did her owner. She payed for 2 more commissions and is trying to get a decent shot of her mom's dog so I can do a commission of it, too.

What I most like about this picture is the bridle. It's just excellent. I'm not crazy about the angle of the horse (I generally dislike arabs with seemingly small ears), but you've done it really true to life. But the bridle is absolutely magnificent!

Thanks! The funny thing is, this horse is a Quarter Horse. I thought maybe she was arab, too, when the owner first gave me the pic. But in the original pic her whole body is in the shot (along with the owner) and her hind quarters gave her away.

I have a QH that looks more araby in the head. Not in every angle but his head is less square and blocky than alot of QHs. I like that about him. I like the refined look. He still has a big butt, though. lol
