Saw this on the critique forum and had to take a closer look
Overall this is a really strong piece - good composition, nice contrast between the lights and the darks and it looks realistic, especially in the feathers of the tail. I imagine that this is pretty accurate to the reference (although I have no idea having not seen it, I just get that impression), but I personally would like to see more detail in the eye - not masses, but just enough to make it look more realistic and bring a sense of balance to the piece. At the moment it's quite bright and plain, so I think a bit of shadow work to up the contrast would give it more 'punch' and create the feeling of life which is already there in the rest of the piece.
I also like the rough feel of the background compared to the sharp detail on the bird, it's a great combination. I do find the two 'ends' of the barbed wire a bit distracting though - I think if you continued both sides to the edge of the paper it would help. Also, I can't tell whether the part on the left of the drawing should be behind the tail (in which case it should still be in focus) or in front (where part of the tail would be hidden but the lovely out-of-focus effect you've got would still fit and help to make this look more 3D).
As I said though, this is such a good drawing and I really like it I love birds of prey I can see from the rest of your gallery that you're a skilled artist, so I hope my comment helps a little bit! I'm not sure I'm really that qualified to assist someone as good as you are

WOW, THANK YOU SO MUCH for this detailed and long review!! It helps a lot! I never thought deeper into the out-of-focus effect so much or the details in the eye. I will remember it when I draw something next time >~<. The barbed wire which is not continued to the edge have been bothering me for some time but I didn't notice it until I had framed the drawing (and it just feel .. wrong to correct a "finished" piece).
(tthhhhaaaank you!!!)
