Makes sense. Most of these object pokemon are inspired by similar Yokai or Spirits in Japanese folklore, namely the stories of objects becoming living beings after being around for a long time or not being disposed of properly. Like the one-eyed umbrella, for example.

Yeah a lot of them have cool backstories which I really appreciate them doing. It gives a very Pokemon touch to an inanimate object

So any time someone goes "This can't be a pokemon!" or "this is a dumb pokemon" because it's an object pokemon, I just roll my eyes at them basically being uncultured dinguses. For instance, Sinistea and Polteaqeist seem to be connected to one particular Yokai that is actually made of broken cermaics/china.Β I love learning about yokai and monsters from all over the world, so this stood out to me right away.

We're getting a lot more PokΓ©mon with swirly eyes lately, aren't we? I only remember Spinda before, but now we've got Minior and Polteageist... I love them all. <3
Fun fact: Polteageist's Japanese name is "pottodesu", which could be interpreted as "it's a pot".

I am seriously afraid to "drink it's tea".

It most likely won't let you unless you have a strong relationship with it. According to the official description for it.

Still, I'm not how there's space for it.

Well, it's described as being made of tea. Maybe it's like a slime creature?
