That's why I snorkel and only keep freshwater fish that are captive bred. Although my local pet shop has had a few mantis shrimps on occassion and they make me think about setting up a saltwater aquarium for one, but the maintainance of saltwater tanks is a pain in the ass!!!

I really admire you for the decision you've made for not keep those mantis shrimps in a salt water aquarium, not only it is offcourse a pain in the ass and very expensive, but also, you could save those amazing sea creatures for may years to come. Even in a very good saltwater aquarium quality maintenance, they will die sooner or later...the best idea is to dive or snorkle adequately to meet those great ocean animals...and I am pretty sure for their warmest greeting welcome you there...

save our ocean...

They also get bigger and more colorful when they're in their natural habitat. I also find it more fun to interact with the animals in their territory, especially the really inquisitive ones like reef squid and cuttlefish!!!! I actually had a triggerfish bite my on the chest when our boat driver threw a tortilla in the water right above me on accident. It really wanted that tortilla and used my body to pin the bread.

They have sharp teeth too! I wish my pictures of all the creatures I've seen on my trips turned out better so I could post them on here.

thanks for your attention...I don't have any aquarium and not supporting this way of animal lover...all those amazing wildlife belongs to our ocean...not in our home, they will suffer and eventually dies no matter how good you maintain them.

All my underwater pictures were taken directly from our wonderful ocean...I am a PADI Scuba Diving Instructor, whenever I have some free times I will dedicate my self for capturing underwater creatures and full supporting anyone who cares about them...Catch nothing but pictures...Leave nothing but bubbles...

save our world...

well as a keeper of many creatures in my aquarium i understand where you are coming from, though i thought i'd just point out that many creatures are going extinct in the wild and attempts to reproduce them to fix the problem are a more practical solution. As of now i own two Banggai Cardinalfish that are endangered, mostly cause of over collection, but i intend to breed them to try and help relieve some of the stress of collecting wild ones. Also many corals are struggling in the wild simply cause of global warming killing large percentages of it. whereas global warming really doesn't heat up my tank to the point of killing stuff, all that said i do respect your view and you have great photos of the beautiful ocean
