Essssplanation:
I have been worried for so long that I don't know what I want to do with my life. The scariest question a person could ask: 'And what do you want to be when you grow up?'IDon'tKnow. I could be a marine biologist.. or a magazine illustrator. ...a doctor or a painter.... a teacher like my mom..or an engineer like my dad... a graphic designer or an adverstising exec. I have never been so great at choices, and it worried me that it seemed everyone knew exactly what they wanted and were on the fast-track for their careers.
. . .After going away for awhile.. touring musuems, university campuses, broadway musicals... I finally realised that I don't *have* to know what's coming up... just know that I *can* become any one of those things. I found that I'm not lost at all. Before, I didn't know if I was scientist, artist, or burger flipper. I know now that I AM none of those things... I'm simply Here. A teenager. With the potential to BECOME any of those things. I haven't come to the fork in the road yet.... but the further I walk along this road, it becomes more and more clear that there are less tines to have to choose from than I thought.

I had to add this to my favourites, it's really really interesting. And you're right, you shouldn't worry too much about the future, after all you live in the present and you never know what's going to happen until you get there.
Making choices is part of our lives, and so is making mistakes, but even if you don't get it right sometimes, you'll always be learning something new and interesting.

Cool... and I know how you feel. I want to be an actress but my fathers spent most of my time (since I was like, 12, and I'm now 15) telling me how it's almost impossible to make any money in acting and it's more about being in the right place at the right time than having actual skill...
Which really kills me because I'd love to have money but I don't want to act for the money... I want to act for the sake of acting... to entertain those people, to make them believe for just a short period of time something totally unimaginable or quite imaginable... just different.
Anyway, I'll probably end up at Cambridge studying archeology/anthropology and then Princeton for law... I'm not in control of my future at all.

My Aunt(who I stayed with in San Francisco) loved art a kid and always wanted to be an artist. Her parents disagreed and told her about the lack of money in the business and how it wasn't a serious profession... They pressured her into going to business school.... and she ended up being an artist anyways. She feels bad that she wasted all that time, and her big piece of advice was to do what you love... because you'll end up doing it anyways.
I have three more just like it, but I was planning on making a journal for it anyway ;D
Anyways, I love acting too
