The Cthulhu Mythos was started by Lovecraft, but other Authors at the time also had a part in developing the Mythos. August Derleth was one of those writers

Yeah I think it was kinda cheese but the creature was really cool. I think it had antlers and branches and made all kinds of weird noises.
You like the forest spirit in Princess Mononoke?
For some reason I just love the creepy forest spirits.

Somehow, it's more scary when engulfed by fog and storm clouds.

Wow. . . Talk about intimidating and awesome.
I wonder though, how did it find enough material to make itself a loincloth?

Thanks!
That's actually not a loincloth but sheets of dead skin and matted hair.

Brian Lumely has a bunch of books on the Cthulhu mythos and one of them is on Ithaqua.

When I was in elementary school, there was a compilation of short stories that featured the Algernon Blackwood tale of the Wendigo. I've always beheld a special joy since then in seeing Wendigoes elsewhere since then. Truly, your rendition of Ithaqua most frightening!
