Well, I feel that because you are a woman you can present the artistry that you do, in the powerfully attention grabbing form that you do because you are a woman yourself. if you know of what you speak, you are allowed, if you are an outsider just guessing, better not go there. To me that turns what would be misogyny by a man, into a subject that has merit for review and thoughtful consideration of the message there. Sure, there is sadism in much of the work, but you present it in a way that causes the viewer to take a moment to examine and see -- is this surreal, satirical, a very literal and meaningful message being made in a format that reaches out and grabs you by the throat. Sometimes the human condition cannot escape that raw and unbearable reality of it's nature. I fear, for our species the shoe fits -- so you merely make us wear it. You are perhaps a haberdasher of humanity for the Alfred Hitchcock hour.
If only more folks who act out the criminal and cataclysmic aspects of their libido channeled them to art rather than the next person over we would be in a lot better shape.
