Description I made this doll vest for a puppet that is currently a WIP.

Obviously Fish scale inspired I have it turned on its side and I arranged its tie-on tendrils to give it a fish shape as a fun point of interest.

This is an actual physical scan of the piece- as opposed to a picture of it. I am using the mediums I have around me currently to upload physical representations of things.

Also - Im getting rather interested in scans or scanning as a medium.

I really enjoyed this piece. I was first inspired by the armor of the elves of Rivendel. Then I made an attempt to 'wrap' my puppet like a maypole to give her an interlacing top (which ended absolutely horribly)
I still wanted that really nicely interwoven sacred wrapped ribbon look and I wanted it to be layered. So I decided to come at it from the angle of ribbon embroidery.. which I have not attempted in a very long time.

The results I felt were really wonderfully charming and surprisingly less bulky than I thought. But incredibly time consuming and a little warped.
I think I would have done better working with a stretcher hoop.

I look forward to using this technique again, possibly creating some trinkets like lucky fish or mermaid pouches, or even woven arm bands for myself.

As to this piece- I am really loving the deep navy blue on black. Its so subtle but so completely blue at the same time. I had to enhance the colors in this picture or they wouldn't even be distinguishable. But the actual piece itself has a really nice subtlety about it.
I think it will suit my 'Cherokee water spider' puppet-doll very nicely and provide quite a bit of relevant visual interest with a clever nod of the hat to fish or being a water creature- as well as being a weaver.
