I absolutely love dilapidation! Being from the South, and a rather rural area at that, I don't get too many chances to do any "Urban Spelunking, Exploration and Photography." Fortunately there are plenty of old, weathered and falling-down barns tucked into every little nook and cranny of the countryside, some out in the middle of fields, others on the edges of clearings, with some of the best and unspoiled hidden out in the middle of the woods. This all makes for some awesome opportunities. My fiancee (now my wife) and I once took a seven hundred mile trip from NC to Indiana; the entire trip "should" have only taken eleven hours or so, but we ended up having to get a motel room just over the border in Virginia. We had always intended a relaxed and leisurely, itinerary-free trip so as to feed the shutterbugs in us, but we just couldn't help but to stop and poke around every old ruined, burned up or collapsed barn or farm house we came across...

It's a fixer upper... Clean up the insides, and somehow preserve the cool creepy of the outside.

Hmm, yeah, if you could get the electricity done, maybe paint some nice cool tones inside, leave the outside...epic Haunted House experience. Would be a great yard to decorate for the kids on Halloween too!
