I love the atmosphere in this work, beautiful! 
The trees seem to go on forever, and the statue is sad and serene at the same time, lika an old woman.
I'm not sure, but did you basically use the blue colour as a background and then created the trees and the statue by covering the blue with different shades of grey and black? Just like to know more about your methods ^^

The classical design becomes in a emblematic pose of a pensive psychology. This pyramid-style placement of the figure is broken internally and is complicated by continual plastic counterpoints of the cloth.
The classical idealization of the facial features is overcome by an intensity of inner thought, so the face seems reduced in the intensity of the look.
The inwardness takes place in the gradual fine of the composition, in the live substance and not in a only figure.
This dreaming and meditative figure is inserted in a interlace black of thin and twisted branches against the clean sky, so the air has a cold brightness and the figure seem alive in the dark.
A pure symbol, all this does not find expression in the splendid, classical mask while humanity seems to concentrate on the closed thought of the mind.

oh wow... my favourite by far! wow... lol... seems to be the only thing i can say at the moment. the blue is just... perfect... it really gives the piece a malancholic feeling alone with the expression of the figure in the foreground... very very nice, *adds to favourites*
