Description Jock - I love this portrait! And of course I didn't take it today, it's from my haul last Friday, in the Zoo. Hope you like him as much as I do!

I love his serious face
Zoo's depress me all the animals in the cages

Thankfully, that is no longer so. Almost all animals have open outside spaces without bars. In this Zoo they don't have Elephants and Giraffes and other large animals like that - not enough space. The Gorillas live on a lovely island where they can do what they like, in a well-balanced group. In this instance it also helps keep the Lowland Gorilla going.

And thank you so much for all those wonderful s! They are so important to me for support and such - I really appreciate every single one of them!

Of course you're right, nothing compares to Mother Nature, except when humans interfere and bring animals to the brink of extinction. Then Zoos can be wonderful places to help them back up on their feet!

Thanks for liking my photos, and thanks for your continued support! Including the new s!

That is a very fine portrait of this wonderful animal. We watched a documentary about gorilla's last night and it is heartbreaking how they have been, and still are, treated so badly in the wild. I often think that animals shouldn't be in zoo's but in his case, perhaps he is better off.

Thank you so much, Eve! Also for the . He really is a beautiful animal, isn't he? He sat there so dignified, and so patient. I had a chat with the keeper, and she said that he doesn't often sit there quite so long and so patiently. It gave me the chance to take this portrait of him. I showed it to her and she said she hadn't seen many as good of him!

No, he was busy waiting for food. And in a very good mood, according to the carers!
