Oh boy. This man and I. We've seen some things.
I finished The Evil Within a few days ago and I still feel like I have game hangover from it (and no I didn't make that up, I read it somewhere, and it totally applies). I'm now on Far Cry 3 to take my mind off it (and enjoying it, luckily) but hnnng I'll always be a survival horror girl at heart and this game was one of the best I've played. It's not even like I'm done with the whole series haha, I've still got all the DLCs plus the sequel to go, but it still feels like I've lost a friend XD
On the positive side, I did a majority of this over the latter half of a day, and I have not drawn anything with that much passion and love in months. So that felt good
Shows how much I love Seb and his game haha 
This is a bit more painterly than my usual work, so that was really fun to experiment with, even if it doesn't look as polished ^^ It was meant to be a bigger painting but I stopped here cause I kinda liked this whole oil painting look.

It sure was! The sequel is very different to the first game, more action than horror, but still a good game in its own rights

Yeah I do too! It's still got the horror there for sure, but it's not quite as gritty as the first game.

It's a decently long game but I don't remember it taking me as long as the first one. I also died a lot less even though I was playing on a higher difficulty, so that might be why XD

Happy Birthday to me + FeaturesHello members of ECE-Group!
This is CarlosAE here typing the journal entry.
Today is my 25th Birthday (Happy Birthday to me). Wow 25 years old....this is crazy. I don't feel different other than my age, so I'm still Young as I am!
I wanted to thank you all for supporting ECE-Group even though most of you members are out for your careers, taking care of the elderly (your Grandparents for example), illness, etc. I understand & this happens to me too. As a token of my appreciation (as usual), I'll be posting features of deviations you submitted in ECE-Group (Not all of them) + outside of ECE-Group below the journal entry.
I'll be going out to any restaurants for celebrating my birthday tonight. In the meantime, if you have any questions you would like me to answer, feel free to let me know by posting comment in the journal entry or send me a Note anytime. Have a great day everyone!

Ha! I told you one day, "have you ever heard of The Evil Within? I'm not a fan of the genre so there's like zero chance I play it myself but I hear it was awesome I thought I'd tell you about it, plus it's Bethesda" XDDD did that play any role (role-playing, haha) or did you forget about what I said when you got it? We'd love to have your opinion so we can know if we can consider ourself a prophet in this or not XDD
Okay now let's talk about the real dal: this looks absolutely stunning
The lighting. Or the shading, I'm not sure. I think one implies the other. But by the Nine, the lighting. hnnng (just as you say in the description XD) the lighting. The whole piece has indeed an oil painting look to it but the lighting itself does give it a... wet? damp? sweaty? greasy? feeling on its own. And that's really cool cause I can't do that with my pens XD it gives the whole piece a lot of texture so when you add the cuts and the bruises it feels very real. Like it's harsh and crude, so it's real. Reality is harsh. Harshness, dirtiness, wetness make it real. It "becomes" real by being and looking and feeling as harsh and dirty and wet and crude as the real deal. Realist art: the mirror of reality. Extra crude version. You get me? XD
Oh and I don't think I could explain why but the shoulder. It looks soooo much like you 
So I love this, this looks really nice, it shows really nice things and I clap

Haha well I've had The Evil Within for like four years now, I just never got around to playing it cause the download was so huge I never bothered before. I'd been planning to play it for a long time so no sorry haha, no prophets here I'm afraid XD
But haha I'm glad you like it XD Thank you! I also liked the weird greasy look of it, I think that's an oil painting look maybe? XD

Since I've last spoke, I've wanted to say that I absolutely love the progress you have made. You have improved so much, and it's amazing to see. This picture is a prime example, the level of detail and the amazing shading and lighting. I loved your art when I started watching, and I still do. You keep going Arasteia! You're such an amazing artist, even if I rarely comment now-a-days, I still believe it!

I must say this is amazing; the details and especially his expression blows my mind. Also, it did have that oil painting feeling to it.

And yess haha I was watching Mark's playthrough as I was playing the game myself XD Like I'd play up to a certain point, then next time I watched Mark, I'd watch up to where I'd played, then I'd go play more of the game, watch Mark up to where I was, so on and so forth. It was a great way to make sure I didn't spoil anything, but also feel like I was playing the game along with him!
