Eyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy! Everyone love phase 2, but idk why, I just think phase one has a cool and unique aesthetic compared to the others. It's the only one that doesn't look quite like the others, is close to Jango's, and is honestly very nostalgic.

Only 2 potential ideas that might be considered-Ralph McQuarie's designs for Storm Troopers as like between Prequels and Trilogy and any other variations of storm troopers in Expanded Universe stories about like the Imperial Remnant or Resurgent Galactic Empire.Β

The Phase I armor was based on the standard mandolorian armor design, such as that used by Jango Fett. I believe that a plain white Mandolorian template would work better than the old republic trooper.

I agree but at the same time it was still the trooper predecessor. IRL they went back and based the OR trooper off clones, but now it's backward now. It clearly seems as if clone armor came after OR trooper armor, but how can that be if they are based on mandos?

There were numerous legends and at least one canon source that state that the clone trooper armor was based off of standard Mandalorian Armor. As we know, legends was all over the place and stomped all over itself as far as continuity, so the makers of the The Old Republic series would have based their designs off of that of the clones so as to make a "Republic" looking design.

As a matter of fact, Mando armor should be placed not in the place of the republic trooper, but before it. The Republic trooper armor was inspired for the Old republic army by the mandalorian armor mandos wore during the mandalorian wars, and its efficiency

In my opinion the Republic Trooper armor looks the best, the Storm Trooper armor is the most iconic, but which armor provided the best protection?

I believe the Republic trooper armor provided the best protection, it was created to stand a few blaster shot, and (if you are lucky, as shown in the 'Hope' cinematic trailer for SWToR) a frag grenade at close range. Phase 1 and 2 Clone armor was good for one shot, them the next would kill the Clone. Imperial Stormtrooper armor knocked the wearer out in the first shot. I assume FO Stormtrooper armor is the same (maybe slightly better) as it's predecessor.
