The town’s most committed guard scaled the town’s highest building to get the town’s best view, only to slip off while trying to peek over the roof’s edge and end up inadvertently giving the cleaning lady the town’s actual best view.

She did scare the poor woman off pretty well, who obeyed the hunter’s threat very diligently, but Dinah had put herself in quite a situation. If that cleaning lady spoke, Dinah’s reputation now hinged on playing this off as a conscious decision. Precarious and uncomfortable as she was, Dinah could escape at any time (which made it somehow worse), if the town came under attack; and at least from here, the view of this side of town and the street below was still very good.

And so she hung there, watching like a hawk, waiting for the sun to go down.
