My pastor used to live in New Zealand; he too says it's a very beautiful place.

Thank you Philip! It's nice to have our country remembered that way; pass on a "gidday" from NZ to him if you get a chance.

The Kiwi Lakes are so beautiful! Over here; our lakes are contaminated with dead bodies, residential, commercial, and industrial waste, flat tyres, pool chairs, shoes, faeces, milk crates, empty bottles, paper wrappers, assorted plastic objects, empty soft drink cans, old bowls, wooden boards, and even whole vehicles! Back in 1st Grade, I'm talking back in 2002; my teacher took me and my whole class up the road to look at the state of the nearby river never mind a lake! I saw things!

That is a shame. I hope things change there. We have our problems too, but not like that. It's about leadership, respect for law, ourselves and our follow inhabitants. While not perfect by any stretch of the imagination, we generally follow an egalitarianism that has most of us treating the place with respect. In theory at least...

I don't mean to be rude but, there was a piece of defecation about twice the size and length of an average butcher's sausage lying at the bottom of that river! I'm surprised the water was clear enough to see the bottom of that river! I hope things change here. Besides, a piece of defecation that big must carry a hell of a lot of bad bacteria and germs! That is why our Bilharzia and Cholera rates are so high here!

Ah, not your run of the mill rubbish and pollution, then; more a public health issue. Clean water and sanitation. Something we take for granted here...

Its totally the opposite here. Our rivers and lakes are used as toilets and makeshift dumping grounds.
