Sure! That goes for all colors. Yellow is just generally the best for mixing. You'll want to scribble on paper afterwards, otherwise the sharpie's nib will be discolored. It kind of screws them up over time regardless, though. I had to buy tons of replacements when I used sharpies like this.
Keep in mind that sharpies are toxic. I'm sure it's fine to do now and again, but I wouldn't recommend covering your entire hand in sharpie all the time like I used to do.
