This critters name is Snogmutth!

They are a weird earthworm/leech thing that are just over a foot long.

in a very cartoony fashion, their requester meets when they find them attached to a leg after a very short wade through a gross slimy creek.

After understandably freaking the hell out, ripping them off and throwing them into a big rock, they find out that the worm can speak.

Abeit in a very silly way that's like it's mixed with blowing razberrys and blowing ur nose.

and on top of things, they are one SASSY worm thing, and the proceeding conversation is such an absurd and baffling trading of insults that the requester is able to get over the initial shock and become fast friends.

finding out that usually, Snogmutth is able to drain a human sized creature of blood in seconds, but that it doesn't appear to work on them, so theymust be some exceptionally powerful thing.

abilities wise, they, as with the world they exist in, can come off as pretty cartoonish, with them being able to suck the fluids out of a creature in a very cartoonish way like a deflating balloon.

but being a more physical entity, regular humans like they requester are basically immune, only getting some scratches from their teeth.

it can be enough to stop many native's of the nightmare realm in their tracks however, or if they are too large, to at least make them feel woozy. although Snogmutth has a limit to how much blood they can take at a time.

in a similarly cartoony fashion, they are also pretty physically resilient, and can contort themselves such that they can squeeze through very small gaps, easily being able to squeeze their way under doors or through cracks, which can come in handy in helping unlock doors and such on their requesters adventure through the nightmare realm.
