hey, i love these things of elements i know many versions, and had my own... see :
water,fire,wind,earth,ice,thunder,time,space,light,darkness,sound,technology,ilusion, wild *, and void
* wild represents plants, flowers, animals and fungi... wild life
see other version if you're interested:
common:
fire,water,wind and earth
chinese 5:
water.fire.earth.wood and metal
chinese 8
water.fire.wind.earth.mountains.sky.moon and thunder
people think ice should'nt be a element, nevermind to them. ice could be a element, as he doesnt need to represent "frozen water" and yes "coldness" and coldness isnt related to water, also , the ice is common in the universe, and water doesnt, so ice is more aceptable as an element than water...

my thing about ice is the slowing down of molecules causing them to freeze. Fire would be the speeding up of the molecules to cause it to combust. Thats why they are opposites on mine as well.

The only one I can read is the Fire element. I love this oriental stuff, but the only way I knew fire was from watching Naruto.

I am a Chinese, so I understand everything here.
The one on the upper right means "Wind". (It's my favorite element.)
And the one on the mottom means "Shadow" in Chinese.
And they are in no way Japanese. For I didn't know a TAD of it.

Yes I do, but the element of ice in what i was thinking was more of cold than frozen water, where as fire is more of heat, because when you heat something up enough, it tends to combust and catch fire.

Inazuma ι» can actually be used by itself to be translated as Lightning. Combining both ιι» (shΗndiΓ n)is used in Mandarin, but in Japanese, they sometimes use ι· (kaminari) to represent lightning bolt when it actually translates as thunder. Hey, if you want me to, I can give you the pronunciations for the Han characters, both in Mandarin and Japanese, that is if you want.

These are written well. I am taking a chinese class and I was able to easily reconize most of the characters.
*Light, Lightening and the center characters where the only ones he did not reconize*
Studying a forgien language like Chinese is very good keep it up.

like i said, there are some differences. The main elements are very similar in both languages, but some differences allows you to tell which language it is in. However, when it comes to more complicated ones like lightning, they are really different

No. The Kanji for water is exactly the same as the Han Zi above. The only difference is how each country pronounces it.
It's the Ice elemental that looks different; in Kanji there is only one stroke to the top left, and the far bottom left stroks is absent. For electricity, the Chinese simplify it by eliminating certain strokes until you get this...η΅. In Kanji, they use the older symbol ι». In China, they still recognize the older ι» but they also use the simpler way in everyday writing. Other than that, every character in Kanji has originated in China, hence the very name Kanji is derived from Han Zi (writing from the Han province in China).
