Personality

As a case of growing up without actual parents, but instead with a younger brother and a sick uncle, Adamant's life was a challenge from the very beginning. Until applying in a combat school, he didn't bother to express himself to anyone, out of fear that no one will understand him. The meeting with Yang at Signal (who had a very similar burden in life) turned out as a major turning point for Adamant, that he could find out how others around him felt and how to properly express himself.

By spending so much time at Beacon, aswell as an older brother figure to team SLAT, he gain such needed boost in social confidence, which also unintentionally turned him into a sort of a smooth talker (which Adamant isn't really proud of himself). And greatly inspired by exploits of various famous Huntsmen known in Remnant's history, which set him on learning more about humanity's potential path towards fair equality. This kind of noble and little bit overdramatic personality makes him despise self centered and ignorant people (including Cardin Winchester during the time at Beacon).

This kind of nobility would come to an abrupt hault during the critical moments of the Fall of Beacon, as world's true cruel reality turned out to be even worse then Adamant could ever imagine and caused him a panic attack as his uncle and brother were nearly lost during the attack on Vale. These events gave Adamant a push to act ahead in order to protect his loved ones. Which included to get his uncle and brother out of the ruined Vale into the protection under the Atlas and deliver Yang's new bionic arm to Patch and eventually Saturn's new bionic leg prostetic as he joined Yang on her way after Ruby.

Upon reuniting with Saturn, he insisted on helping him getting used to his new prostetic faster in order to prepare him for what might happen next. Saturn was at first a bit concerned if Adamant isn't being a bit paranoid now. But it's obvious that Adamant is looking after his teammates and doesn't want what nearly happened to his family happen to his team. After the reunion with Leoan and Tokeo, he made a promise to everyone he will always find them.

Time-skip

The Fall of Beacon marked a near complete loss in redeeming qualities for the World of Remnant, but Adamant still remained determined to look out for everyone he cares about and decided that if anything then he might aswell find a solution to survive in this new world. During Volume 4 it shows that Adamant is even more wary about making sure everyone else around him survives. General Ironwood himself has offered a cooperation to Adamant about delivering the new biotechs for both Yang and Saturn while he will take responsibility to look out for his ill uncle and younger brother as a gratitude for team SLAT's exploits. Before going after Saturn to Mistral, he spent some time in Patch to help Yang heal from her PTSD. Eventually both of them left at the same time – with Adamant using his uncles old motorcycle which he reconstructed on his own and named Opsidius.

When eventually during Volume 5 they found the Branwen tribe (after Yang explaining to Adamant how they will find everyone faster), Adamant was at first a bit put off by the thought of Raven being Yang's mother: both for holding Weiss as hostage and not caring at all about her own daughter apparently. But still went along with all that was happening, knowing that he could barely do something about it, even during the attack on Haven. And upon the reunions of teams RWBY and SLAT, Adamant knew they will now stay in touch, even if they once again have to go separate ways.
During Volume 6 however Adamant had to leave once again in order to help secure what remains of Vale and return to his uncle and brother. He knew very well that Saturn will be able to take care of himself, since he displayed the most talents out of anyone in team SLAT. And even Yang gave him a very heartwarming goodbye for helping her at her side, even if she didn't ask for it. (...and she also kissed him on the cheek...).
