Quite a few years ago, I ended up spending several months in Japan with a project I was working on - it was absolutely brilliant. On my first afternoon, massively jet-lagged and tired, the friend I was staying with took me to a local festival, and it was just wonderful. He's married to a Japanese woman, and she had even managed to find a kimono that fit me that I could borrow. It was a really incredible introduction to Japan, and I fell completely in love with the country.
