Description A green open space is a place which is not only green and beautiful, but also need to be able to open itself toward the community where it belongs, thus giving a real positive contribution by letting the community seep through it.

Through this mutual dependency, both the park and the community create a more lively environment by supporting each other.

Design idea
Tatus is designed with the philosophy of a Floor drain, which suck out all the unwanted grey water to where it belongs.

This function applied to Tatus which acts not only as a public open green space seeping the rain water, but also as a waste recycling facility for the surrounding where it is located when possible

Inspired by the vortex stream formed when water is sucked into a floor drain, the building massing of the recycling pavilion is designed in a modular, which can be used as a multifunction space.

Design Concept
Tatus looks to waste matter as a yet-developed material. These waste matter from the community is given back to them in a more desirable form, thus giving a positive contribution and mutual symbiotic relationship between each other.

Tatus is divided into several parts based on the type of waste matter it collect

Organic waste

from the community’s kitchen waste is processed becoming a natural fertilizer inside the wells distributed throughout the park area. They are hidden beneath the solid paving surface of the park in a dynamic pattern.

Non-organic: Trash beautifully
Non organic waste matter is collected inside the paviliun which is designed as a waste storage facility before they are being distributed to be recycled. Storage of the waste matter is categorized according to their type.

Used bottle is stored beneath the frame structure of the pavilion, thus filling the hollow space creating exceptional beauty through its uniqueness.

Used plastic bags and papers is stored over a tree-like structure. The more the waste matter is added, the more lush the tree would become. They create a sheltering place for the park visitor before being “harvested”.
