When you were painting this, did you ever imagine you'd end up where you are now?

I've watched you a long time, I come back to look at your work from time to time and I always am brought back to my childhood when my brothers bought comic cards. It's...a classic style to me, the way that you do. No, timeless is a better word to me. It's incredible, you're one of my favorite artists because of the boy with an arrow in his head. I love it so much.

I love the eyes! So curious and full of emotion. Everything else is lovely too, it's almost like I can feel the water too.

At first glance, this seems like just a great work of art. But I stared at it long enough - it only took me a minute - and I realized something. There's an air of reality to this piece that strikes the viewer, and they might not even realize it. Of course you see that the subject looks sad, possibly hopeful, but from the angle of her eyebrows, more like she's given up. There's the contradiction of the paint-like look, but at the same time, the feeling you've incorporated to cause the viewer to relate, to see your subject as one that is real. Even though the subject has purple hair and lips.

Talent, in art, is being able to make something look real. Hard work, in art, is being able to make something look real and not real at the same time, and still have it be visually pleasing. Obviously, this took both talent and hard work. Thanks for sharing this with us.

I have to say, due to the feel of this drawing, this is my favorite of your works.

This is soooooo cool! Wow, I have no words to describe your work!
I love this because of the smooth blend of colors, especially since they are purple and auqu blue. I like the shades of the colors.

Well hello there my very popular friend. I just received a tablet (not a wacom regretfully but works just as nicely). I was wondering if you can offer some tip/tricks/or hints on to doing my own digital work? If you look at my gallery (if you have the time) could you offer some pointers for me? I doubt that Ihave the patience to do detailed works like you have but I would like to learn more you know? I just set the pen pressure for my tablet but I was wonder more about the different settings from the brush pallate. What do you prefer using in regards to color dynamics etc? I know that I'm probably not making any sense but I'd like to learn more you know? *bowing I await your awnser sensei. hehe 8) Thanks as always for always helping me.

This is such a beautiful work of art. The coloring befits the ocean, and there is an overall feeling of peacefullness and determination.
I think the best part is how realistic the hair looks, every single strand is visible and natural. The lighting is also great.

All the rest of your work is awesome too. The best points are the lighting, point of view, proportions, coloring, and enormous amount of detail that provides for realism and unity. So, everything is great

very nice, i like how much emotion this picture involks (envolks?)
such fluidity in the hair
and unconcern in her eyes
she is home
in the water, away from others
where the sun shines through

This is a beautiful piece. The cool colors really work well, especially because the face is the same as the surrounding water. I love the flowing purple hair. The bubbles are a great addition too, the reflextions and highlights on this a very well done. This is, as I had already said, a beautiful piece.

Loving that hair. Those eyes, lips and skin tones are also magnificent. You really got off on a good start here, keep it coming!

PS - Does a Wacom tablet really make that much of a difference? I have heard of how good it is and I see some really good stuff coming from those who have it, but I am not sure if its worth the expense. What are your thoughts?

Great. I like these stormy formed hairs and this strong use of colours. The good tranperency and the well designed water bubbles are very likeful. Her straight, but absent -minded look and the mystical amtosphere of the underwater location supports the titles intention very well: Dreamer.

yeah the face is "off" but it was an early work and ive progressed since. the mouth is too small and the jaw doesnt line up with the rest of the face, still i learnt a lot from it.

The hair is amazing -- very realistic. Cookie for you! *give* However, her face looks a little... off? I don't know what it is about it, but it doesn't look quite right. This is impressing, I'm going to have to dig through the rest of your gallery now. XD If you have the time, could you please take a look at my gallery?
