Description

Black confetti fell upon the crowds.

Tachete trailed its slow descent from the tops of the stands. His white eyes flickered to the mauvi who were scuttling through from window to window and tossing it outwards. He then watched as the silk-wrapped warmonger suddenly took to a stand, his lithe body leaning forwards to the balcony edge, riled by the ashes that marked the death of his kingdom.

Tachete’s feet edged closer to the end of the mast, where a headpiece moulded into a face hung mid-scream, petrified. He curled his talons around its forehead, leaning to watch closer, drawing black lines of soot across the brass tresses of hair.

An abyssal siren rung out beneath the sands of the arena floor.

His eyes narrowed, and he leapt downwards.

Black wings spread wide, casting flecks of black into the wind. Ruby butterflies were cut from the air by his movements. Through the flock, he brought his talons to the fore.
