She is a beautiful ocelot. ^^

Not sure which is cuter, her face or her tush.

Thank you!

Why not both?

I'm very happy that my work is an inspiration to you! :-D Cool painting, and I quite like your general style. Keep up the good work!

Thank you very much! I've been watching your paintings and always wanted to try something similar, only now I found the time and courage to do it , there is still much to improve though. Glad you liked my style, I'll keep working to make it better

This is really one of your best. For exploring a new media you have done a fantastic job. Both the pattern of the character's fur and the lighting are rendered very well.Β

Thank you! This one was a great challenge that I was avoiding for quite a while (always wanted to make a full painting of an anthro), I tried to get a more dramatic lighting on this to see how I would handle the shading and paint mixing, hopefully the future ones will come out better now that I know what to do

LOVE the expression on this one!Β  The back-lighting on the left edges is also -really- nice.

Thank you very much, it was quite tricky to do but very fun at the same time. I'll be keeping this technique for further use

Looks great!Β  The balance of design and convincing anatomy is really subtle here, especially the back of the figure.Β  I like the indirect lighting in the shadows, too.Β  Excellent work!

How is the acrylic holding up on the Bristol board?Β

Thank you very much, I am glad the design looks convincing, I tried to test some more complex lighting to see how it would look, not something I'll be doing all the time but it was a good experience so far .

I love working with acrylics on bristol, far better than watercolor paper I'd say but not better than a good ol stretched canvas, being smooth, bristol makes the colors look brighter, in watercolor paper they feel dull in some way. I'd recommend it for you to try

Cool -- I don't think I've ever painted on Bristol, have to give it a try!Β  I used to paint in gouache on this stuff called Bainbridge no. 80 illustration board.Β  It was nice, but it tended to warp over time (and it sucked up a lot of color).Β  Bristol seems maybe less porous...

Bristol is really smooth, the first time I used, I didn't like because it felt like plastic in some way, used of drawing on very grainy papers it felt really wrong, but after a few attempts I learned the way to work with it. If you want sharp accurate lines, there is no better choice in my opinion, and since then, all my linearts are done in bristol .

I took an art class where we had to draw something on Bristol, and I felt the same way as you did -- The surface was just too slick and weird for drawing.Β  But unlike you, I didn't persevere with it.Β  Seems like a lot of serious illustrators use it, however.Β  Maybe I should revisit it!Β

Give it a go, after some time it starts to feel right and the results are very good. Some of my favorite artists work on bristol, so I thought on following them on this

Oh dear , we know it isn't true, and I'll keep telling you that all your works are amazing, we can't really compare since what we draw is very different even if the fantasy background is the same

of course it is true- and you just need to accept your awesomeness
the problem with my work is that I know that they can be better, that Β I can do it better and so Inwas not talking about Β the style but quality
so, yeah
I just need to start working more on it to catch up
