I still think "Homestuck" should be a show on Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network or the Disney Channel.

You have all these cute little trolls, most of whom are children and pre-teens, living awesome adventures in a digital world. What more could you possibly need? It could be the next best children's show, right after "The Fairly Oddparents" and "Friendship is Magic"!

I actually doubt it would do it much justice. Homestuck is just incredibly incredibly complicated, too complicated for a cartoon adaptation, I think. @A@ But who knows! Maybe a genius writer will come along someday

First off, I would not make it for children because there's a lot of violence which I don't want to kiddify and I want no restrictions in language.

1. All the time shenanigans. All of them.
2. All the nuance about their worlds and the way Sburb works
3. The fact that they converse over the internet through text, and a lot of important crap happens here, and they tell you a lot about their character. This will be hard to adapt. I don't see any solution except a very talented writer and a whole bunch of talking heads. It will be weird when they start talking to their future selves and stuff! I expect a lot of it to be cut out.
4. The non-linear POV shifting.
5. The little bits of foreshadowing in the convos
6. THE LENGTH. THE SHEER LEEEEEEEENGTH.

It would be interesting to see it as a cartoon, but they'll have to change the style/cut out/simplify a huge chunk of what made Homestuck charming for me for it to work.

"Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" started as a violent comic with swear words, and it was turned into a hugely-sucessful children's cartoon TWICE. So I don't see why "Homestuck" doesn't have a shot at Nicelodeon or the Disney Channel.
