This makes (not in a bad way) way too much sense. Holly has wings to fly, her cutie mark is an acorn and a target, representing her three silver acorns and her great aim. Artemis appears to be slightly taller than holly, Artemis is pale with black hair and his cutie mark is a golden brain, representing his genius, which also makes sense because unicorns are smart, and representing the family mottoΒ AurumΒ EstΒ Potestas, or gold is power. I don't blame you (since you haven't read all the books), but in book 5, Artemis and Holly swap eyes during a materialization. Well, that concludes another excessively long comment/review.

Don't know why but I always pictured his cutie-mark has being the C-Cube. :/ guess, to me, it was a creation based upon him. A brilliant machine that only Arty could make.Β

Instead of an earth pony you mean? I think of earth ponies as physical, down-to-earth. Unicorns are considered more upper class. They get things done with their minds (i.e. with telekinesis) rather than physical labor. In that light I thought Artemis should be a unicorn.
