Description
This cosplay is the result of 9 months of love. Consisting of 36 individual petals, each made of 3 layers of fabric and covered in between 20-25,000 hand sewn sequins, Glinda's Bubble Dress has been a dream costume of mine since I first saw Wicked.
I really wanted to do something I hadn't seen any other Glinda cosplayers do, so I decided to create my very own "bubble". Strapless and light, the bubble was designed to be small enough to be practical for on stage wear while still evoking memories of the full-size bubbles Glinda flies in on in the musical production. Four electronic bubble blowers are wired into the hoops.
This cosplay was entered into the Sydney heat of the Australian Championships of Cosplay 2015 and achieved Best Fantasy.
