Drawing 2 Final #1 - Alice Reads A Book.
Oil sticks on gessoed paper.
For this series we had to choose an artist to use as inspiration. My normal oil stick works are light colors, so the teacher suggested I try to work like Manet, who uses darker colors (at least, darker than Monet who I wanted to use). Because he did a lot of portraits and figure works I decided to do that - each one in this series is supposed to mimic one of his works. I picked out clothing that was closest to his time period and ended up looking something like Alice In Wonderland, so this series is my Alice series
