Shiro and Ryuu when they were around 6 years old going along with "Do You Want to Build a Snowman?" from the movie Frozen.
The Yamazaki twins used to be very close when they were kids, but after the tragedy with Yumi little by little Ryuu shut everyone away. Shiro tries his best to get close to his brother again, then Yumi's family kills their parents and Shiro decides to blame everything on Ryuu.
Shiro and Ryuu have the same stages of the song, the only difference is it all happens in around a month while in Frozen is Anna and Elsa growing up. I decided to make them as kids for this drawing just to play along with the song and use it as a metaphor.

This... Was a really good idea, now part of me is thinking that the Yamazaki brothers would really hate frozen, because it reminds them of their own lives(especially with the dead parents), I'd also imagine they'd both be sick of "let it go" by this point.

Probably yes. I imagine Shiro being dragged along everybody to watch a princess movie and feel really uncomfortable through all of it for all the flashbacks.
Probably, especially if the girls start singing all the songs whenever they can or use them as puns.

About the lyrics: "Or firebend around the hall" is a sentence which would fit these two (and freak out their mother)

Yeah, this was very sad. I imagine that for some time Ryuu didn't want to use firebending because it was the reason he killed Yumi. Then he finds out his parents were killed to with fire.
I like those lyrics! Poor Yamazaki mom, her kids drove her insane burning everything in the house.
I'm thinking on doing a drawing for each part of the song. We already have them at the beginning as kids, then maybe the middle stanza as teens and finally the last part them grown up.

That sounds a bit like Jeong Jeong. Despite being a firebender, he absolutely hated fire since all it could do was destroy. But as we could see in The Beginnings Part 1, firebending has some healingpower.
Did they coincedently live close to a beach when they still lived in the Fire Nation?

Yes, poor Jeong Jeong. But, don't worry, Ryuu doesn't hate firebending that much, it was just a little stage. Then he said "screw it all, I'm awesome, I can do what I want."
Like a year and a half ago, when I started the comic, I was planning on making the Yamazakis live near the beach (all because I was in the beach myself), but I never established that. They lived in the Fire Nation just a little bit, they moved to the earth kingdom when the twins were 6 years old, that is why I never gave so much thought about it, they never spend that much time in the fire nation.
