Kinda crappy picture, I'll likely scrap it eventually. But at last, here she is.This poor thing has been through a lot in her short dollie life. But I think she's finally where she belongs. She was an impulse buy of =Spekle 's a while back. I'm not sure exactly why, but ever since =Spekle took her out of the box, I was in love. I knew she'd be mine someday. Once =Spekle got her Topaz, she decided there was no room for this lady, so she sold her to me. :3
However I only have three main girl characters, and she wasn't really right for any of them. Originally I was going to get a Soom Romantic Dillui to be Serra. But now that I've modded her eyes, I really feel like this doll embodies Serra much better then the Dillui ever could have. Better then I expected even. She will be getting different eyes eventually, you can't tell, but these ones are blue. I need to find her some glowier ones.
Anyway, I'd love to know what people think of her new look. I've never done anything like this before, so I don't really know what to think. For those who don't know, this is what the Dollzone Cherry's eyes normally look like, [link]

In my limited knowledge of all things doll-y...I think that you did an excellent job with the eye mods. Everything looks nice and smooth and like it was made that way.

Oh wow, she turned out great! I always love seeing eyes modded to be more closed since it's obviously more difficult to close an eye than open it.

Thanks! Yeah I always love seeing any kind of eye modding, it seems like such a daring thing to do, since so much of the focus is in the eyes, you know? I was really scared to do it at first, but really, it wasn't so bad. In the end, I figured I can always open them again if I want to. XD

Thanks! Yeah I love the Cherry too, but I didn't realize it til I saw her in person. XD But yeah...I was really nervous to do the mod at first, but it really wasn't that hard. I think I would be more nervous do to any kind of eye opening mod. Somehow subtracting seems more permanent that adding. XD
WHICH, BTW, have you removed Wyn's boobies yet????
I love that wig. XD It's perfect for her. But it's a lot of maintenance because it's reeeeaaaaaaally long... It's this one [link] 'cept I removed the rubberbands.

arg i havent removed the boobs yet! im such a bad mom! and poor Wyn is just sitting around in big sweatshirts to hide them waiting for me to get around to it XDDD its horrible, i just havent had time, or its raining and snowing...
i fear the eye opening too, i have someone who wants me to try it on her doll and i am terrified!! i would rather get some practice first. what did you use on her eyes? looks like it worked really well^^
long wigs!! so pretty...the pics on the DM site freaked me out at first...Liebe looks so much like Alex XDD but the wig is gorgeous! i got Isis a long wig from Luts...i might cut it. i like the style but her hair isnt that long. we'll see. i was going to cut Shaes hair, but it looks so good long i dont want too.

Aww, well it's kinda a scary thing to do too, I would think. I'd probably put it off just out of fear...but on the other hand something about chopping the boobs off a doll sounds like a lot of fun to me. XD But poor Wyn!! I can't imagine he feels very good about having them! D:
Actually I used Mighty Putty. XDD *lame* I didn't want to haveta order something else online and wait for it. I just wanted to get it done. So I went out and bought some Mighty Putty at Target and it worked just fine. It's not the best thing for sculpting, but I just sanded down any roughness once it was dry. It's very smooth. I did have a problem with it on Fray's ears though, when I sprayed them to get ready for blushing, it kinda bubbled up in some places. Don't really know why that happened... But when I did Serra's eyes I painted them with white acrylic before spraying them and that prevented any bubbling. I dunno, I need to play around with it a bit more to understand it fully.

Yeah I was gonna trim that wig a little bit too, but I decided not to, it's perfect as it is. I usually do buy longer wigs and then cut them down though. I like styling their hair. XD

mighty putty!! who knew?? i would have never thought to use it...i think thats how most people do the additive mods tho, with the sanding after (its how i plan to do it anyway) so it doesnt sound that much different. i cant say how apoxy works, cause i dont have any (yet) so it seems like a good idea to me. still looks good <3
omg i totally started the boob removal over the weekend. i was trying to dress Wyn (and youre right, he is so not happy with boobs) and i couldnt put him in most of his clothes cause he's too perky and the nipples on those things are ridiculous!!! so i thought id just sand them down a tad....several hours later i was about halfway done XDD he could wear almost any of his clothes now without boobage showing. tho now hes rocking the man-boobs. not so good. but if i keep at it all week i should have him done by the weekend i think. he wont have his man-parts yet, but im sure he doesnt miss them XD

Yeah there's this more professional kind of epoxy people use for the additive mods I think. It's stuff that's easier to sculpt I guess. But the only way I could get any is by ordering it online, and I just didn't have the patience to wait for it. I think the Mighty Putty is more durable anyway, and since I want the mods to be permanent it works well for me.
lol Manboob Wyn!! XDD Poor little guy, he's gonna have such a complex after that! You could probably make his man parts with Mighty Putty. Then they'd be mighty.... *lame*

i actually just ordered the apoxy or epoxy or whatever its called (we're actually calling it penis putty here...for obvious reasons) from the Dollmore. as usual, they come out with everything i need around the time im whining about not having it. i swear they spy on me. theyre probably reading this right now...
i'll be getting more emails any day now XDDD
but anyway, i got off track. epoxy...i ordered it, i'll totally let you know how i like (or hate) it. it was only about 6 bucks and i was ordering anyway...and even tho i am so impatient when it comes to, well, everything...i can wait for this cause the boobs arent 100% gone yet, so i have some time^^

I think technically it's "epoxy" but there's a specific product that's called "apoxy" ...I could have that backwards, or completely wrong though. I'm not sure. But I like penis putty a lot more!! XD I'm totally gonna call it that now.

Anyway... Yeah maybe I'll order some next time I do a Dollmore order. I'm hoping to do that maybe next month or something. But I'm also trying not to buy anymore doll stuff until I've ordered a Crobidoll Lance. I decided something in my subconscious is causing me to buy other things so that I don't have enough money to get the one doll I want more than any other. So I'm trying to fight it.

Yeah...there aren't any dolls I want from Dollmore at this point, but I pretty much always buy my clothes and accessories from there. They just have so much stuff! It made me sad last time though because I spent a lot of money, but only got one free pair of eyes and nothing else. :/ I was hoping to get a lot of neat free stuff, like I did the time before.

ugh. they went thru a faze where i didnt get free stuff at all...then i was getting all kinds of weird crap. like socks. all the free eyes ive gotten lately have been glass tho and i horde away eyes, so that makes me happy XD
and they have at least one, probably more like 3 more dolls i want from them D: it never ends...i should just send them my paycheck...

i almost messaged you and told you to get him when i saw the comments XD its my opinion that everyone needs one. and...yes...the breakaway is coming home to me *fail* i was so not going to buy more dolls for a while!!! but he was my very favorite of her dolls and i had a moment of greediness where i didnt want him to go away! so i really had no choice...and he was on my list!! the liiiiiiist!! i had been looking at breakaways and honestly none of them did it for me, i didnt have anyone for them to be...but with the already-existing scars he somehow fits right in with my characters. so now i have another body to look for XDDD it never ends!

Man I wish they woulda sent me some socks at least!! I only have one pair of MSD socks that I got for free from them before. So Faron is the only one who gets to wear socks. XD And yeah, last time they sent me some glass eyes, which were really pretty but they don't have pupils so I didn't have any use for them. And then :dvespekle: came over with her Topaz and tried them in her, and they looked so awesome that I just gave them to her. :/ I woulda kept them, just because I like the idea of hording eyes too. XD But it seemed like a shame to take them out of that Topaz. It's like they were made just for her.
XDD Well I'm kinda hoping maybe they'll make a new one if they do a free head event. But in the off chance that it is a Yeon Ho I'll totally give it to you. I have no use for one of those. And though they're nice looking, it's not really the kind of doll I can see myself owning, y'know what I mean? I just don't relate to them, I guess.

eyes are one of those things...they really pick their doll sometimes. and blue pupiless eyes do seem like they should go in a Topaz...ive never seen one in person, but they look great in all their photos....

my list is ridiculous now. i shouldnt even bother with it... i had three dolls left i kinda wanted to try getting this year, and now iplehouse went and released Kamau. he is so Thomas...and ive wanted Thomas since i first had Alex...he's the last of my "Four Horsemen" vampires which include Alex, David, Ry and well....Thomas. rawr, iplehouse...you suck.

I hope they do make a new head! But...I'd only keep it if there was a preexisting character that I could give. I still haven't made a new character for the sake of getting a doll!!! And I'm determined not to....sorta.... XD; If it was a really pretty head I'd probably have to find some way of keeping it though...
The trouble with getting a Sapphira is it'd be one of my "antagonist" characters. And...I dunno, that seems kinda weird somehow. So I'll probably just wait and buy one after I actually have all of my main characters. XD

aww but what if you did get him and fell in love?! then you would have to make a new character for him! or just do what i seem to do and pull out existing but small undeveloped characters from the background and insert them deeper into the story making it more complicated than before. omg story fail.
Sapphira as an antagonist is not as strange as you think. if you knew how...evil...wyn really was, it would make sense. this is the doll who tried to kill me and himself because i was looking at wigs for another doll. he threw a tiny off a table too, and knocks over other dolls.

You did a really nice job with the eye mods too, she looks very sultry, I really like her already.
The only thing I'd suggest in relation to her eyes though, is maybe she should could have a more dramatic eyeshadow colour? While you can't really see that the eyelids have been added, the colour on the eyelid being somewhat natural makes me pay more attention to the join.
Honestly though, it might just be that I know it's there.
Anyway, very nice indeed.

And yeah, I agree, now that I've photographed her I think I'll make some changes to her faceup....eventually. The trouble is I HATE the idea of having to redo her lashes. Gawd I hate lashes. x_x And she has really long ones, which is what I wanted, but they're not very easy to work with.

I didn't really intentionally go for girl dolls, I guess I just have a thing for strong female characters, they're more interesting to me than most male ones. XD
Yeah lashes are a real pain, but I guess at least they're cheap to replace if something goes wrong, just frustrating in the meantime. :S

Well it makes sense to me that guys would be more into girl dolls, while girls are into the guy dolls, you know? Jerry really likes having a girl doll around now. XD I'm hoping maybe he'll get back into the whole thing with her here.
Yeah I can always replace them. :/ It's just such a pain. But I'll probably work on her some more after the con we're going to this weekend. Her body could use a reblushing anyway.
Hehe yeah, I think she'd fit in among your girls. I've had the character in my head for quite a while, but like a lot of my girl characters she was really underdeveloped. It's only recently that I've giving her more consideration. I'm not afraid to say reading about Bella might have influenced her current persona a little. But I'll write more about her later. ;3

Yeah, I think you're right about that.
I tend to lean towards female characters in a lot of story/role-playing for two reasons, one being that they're more of a challenge, I'm forced to think about the character more and look into things I have no personal experience with, and secondly it's also convenient because I'm not tempted to put my own feelings into their actions, it distances them from my personality a bit and makes it easier to separate the character from me playing the character.
Haha, she does sound like she'd fit in quite well with my ladies, and with her looks I'm sure they'd take to her quite well too. XD
Any character which can take inspiration from Bella is a character I'm well and truly behind, so I look forward to hearing much more about her as you flesh her out.
