Your Arennir's zodiac decides what tree/plant and colours the horse is connected to. The zodiac is determined when your horse is born. It doesn't matter if the horse is 2 or 20 years old, it's the day and month of birth that determines the zodiac.

Zodiac trees
It is said their tree will give them strength, not necessarily through eating parts of the tree (some are poisonous), but by wearing the leaves or decorations made from their wood. Decorating your Arennir with its zodiac tree during events and shows is rumoured to boost his or her chances of winning or even receiving a special reward, but whether that is true or just hearsay hasn't yet been found out.

Zodiac colours
During Arennir events, owners are encouraged to use tack and decorations in the same colours as the horse's zodiac. Some horses have been discovered to display unnatural markings on their coats, in the same colours as their zodiac.
