Son of Cpt. Horatio Turbot, Darryl H. Turbot is a lighthouse keeper and an entrepreneur. He is in charge in selling his family's signature squid jerky and other seafood products, as well as working in shifts with his father in the lighthouse. Darryl is the most confident and charismatic among the Turbots, as he stands out from the family by appearance! Although he's fond with his family, he sometimes wonders about his true origins. The golden merpup necklace being his only clue, his origin remains a mystery....

- The colour palette used for Darryl is inspired by the Adventure Bay Lighthouse, located in Seal Island.

- Horatio owns the same shirt that Darryl wears, albeit in his size.

- Darryl was adopted by Cpt. Horatio Turbot when he was a young boy. He was found stranded on Seal Island when he was a young boy. Horatio tried to find his family, but to no avail. Thus, Darryl was given the surname 'Turbot', as well as a middle name, Hurley.

Gold Earrings
- Darryl was given gold earrings when he was a teenager by his father, as a sign of coming of age. It is also given to him according to sailors' tradition, as he was taught the knowledge of seamanship and marine wildlife by Horatio.

Enchanted Gold Necklace
- A golden necklace, with a golden merpup puptag that is believed to be of Puplantian origin, is said to be enchanted with merpup magic. It is said that those who wear the necklace has a strong bond with the sea, as well as with marine wildlife.

- It is also believed that if a human were to wear the necklace, they can harness merpup magic and communicate with mythical marine wildlife, mainly the merpups!
