Ok, "that look" is rare indeed and it took me hours to find a suitable reference. This is referenced from a still from the movie. So 'tis adult Edward. Makes me feel a bit less creepy knowing he's legal at this point

I am aware of a bit of the undersketch showing through. It's just the lines I laid down to get his features in the right place and I don't mind them. Other than that I'm not very self critical with this one. I really like how he came out. Oh, and a slight cheat... this is a black and white photo. I got tired trying to correct the photo for the odd mix of sunlight and tungsten light in my apartment, so I just discarded it altogether. There's no color in it anyway; it's a true black and white piece. The flecks here and there are part of the paper itself.

Automail sucks. No wonder Edward is almost always dressed up to his neck!

Method: Charcoal Reduction
Materials: 80lb drawing paper; 6B 4B 2B black condensed charcoal; medium black vine charcoal; condensed white charcoal; white charcoal pencil; white pastel stick; kneaded rubber eraser; pink pearl plastic eraser; scaling ruler for proportions; fingers for blending and smudging; dry washcloth lava soap for clean-up
Time: worked on and off for three days... must have been 7 hours or so total
Size: 18"x12" He's pretty big. Almost as tall as my drawing table! Definitely the biggest fanart I've ever done in charcoal.
