Another handy tip with masks.

[Shift + Alt + click mask] to toggle the color overlay and applied mask view. It looks just like quick mask, so you can get a better idea of exactly what is and is not hidden.

[Alt + click mask] to toggle the mask view (B&W only) and the applied mask view.

You don't switch? I use quick mask a lot, so maybe I'm just used to it. I use mask view for cleaning up when I mask out large portions.

To be honest, either I'm too dumb or just too lazy, but I still don't get a clue what are you talkin about here. ._________.

I mean, what's the purpose of masking anyway?

OMG, you don't know about masks?! I'll admit, I don't use them a bunch, but they sure can come in handy when you need them.

Whenever I appear, it always seems to be suddenly. I only show up when you don't expect it!

I use masking, but just to avoid mistakes in erasing. Sometimes, I'm lazy, and I don't take full advantage.

well its kinda like just incase you erased part of a picture but realised you needed it later on but dun wanna restart all over?

Its like the idea of hav bezillons of layers, one for everything incase you screw something up...the mask is like that?

-______-;
hav u tried it out yourself though?

Example an ayu mag scan.
You're trying to erase the BG away, so you do like 80% of it and find out you erased the edges around her too sharply. You're gonna have to restart that whole thing no?

Well if you used the mask to do the "erasing" you wouldn't have to. its just easier to edit things that way...
