Was playing a bit too much Sonic CD when the idea for this one came up. What with Sonic CD being practically inspired by Back to the Future, why couldn’t Sonic go into the future to keep his game reputation from spiraling out of control? As for Amy, yeah, she’s not a terrible character, but come on, let’s all admit that Sonic’s games aren’t the only thing that has suffered in recent years. Let’s just chalk up her character writing as another bug the developers glanced over during the pressure to release the game within budget.Related content

You know, I once had a similar idea to this comic, where Sonic and Amy are walking along and Tails shows up from the future in the Delorean. Just like Doc Brown, Tails says "It's your kids, Sonic. Something's gotta be done about your kids!" Then Amy takes one look at Sonic and says "Kids?...That means Sonic and I eventually get to...WOOHOO!

Psht, the developers probably get handed the scripts and told to shut up or leave. I have a hard time imagining anyone could willingly put together such blasphemy to our childhood hero unless they'd sold their soul to the devil

Yeah, more times than not it isn't the creatives making the story in the final form we all see. A delightful mix of too many cooks in the kitchen, restricted funding and deadlines are the usual culprit sadly. Though there's the occasional light that shines through, Sonic games haven't seen to many in recent years.

Especially when corporate figures with no understanding of the sonic brand catch wind of how profitable it is and grow too intent on not losing the profits. Sadly, developers must follow the orders from on high if they want to get paid for their work

I think her writing is meant to be a hint to the basic idea of "Sonic is not going to have a girlfriend. Ever."
