Description #2 of 7. 5 to go!

There are a lot of neat things you can do with the motion editor, but I know many do not use it as it is not as straight-forward as the graph editor. Hopefully this will help. I cover fall-offs, shifting time, and what all those procedural tools do.

If you think this is basic, know I had to look up a lot information on many things for this video. Even after that, I had to play around to see howsome of the procedural tools actual work. Sometimes, we all just need to take a minute to go back to the basics. I am always surprised to see what I missed and learned a lot in making this.

something I can't seem to grasp;
How do you make robotic movement? I've done it once (By complete mistake, and with failure in mind) and people who commented said they adored it. but I can't seem to do it again. but this time, I want to do another robotic animation, but with the little bumps that robots would have in real life.

I haven't done robotic motion myself, so is probably not the best for helping.

Something I haven't been able to figure out in the Motion editor, is how to rotate multiple joints in a single selection.
I'm not sure if it's even possible.
It's rather useful in the Graph editor, especially with posing hands and fingers, since I don't have to rotate each joint individually.

You can rotate multiple at the same time, but only from the same point of rotation.  Useful sometimes, but I would think it would break fingers.

Can I ask a few questions?
I know there are ways to move the joints but when I try, for some reason I can't select anything; some white dots over the eyes and parts of the body show up but I simply can't move anything but the entire body.
And how do you move the eyes? Not emotion but like, inside with her iris and such, making her roll her eyes.

See this is my first time working with the program and I'm having trouble all together with everything.

The eyes do not have selectable bones.  Also, older versions of the models were not made for SFM and can't be controlled.  Look for "eyes_updown" and "eyes_rightleft".  Also, the "viewTarget" is the point of focus the eyes will look at and can be moved around in the viewport.

The alt dragging the handles is exactly what I've been lookin for.  Thanks for this!   I can do time scaling in graph editor, but sometimes it can be really finnicky with offset mode on or off, and using the motion editor comes in real handy. Also especially with locks for me...

Wonderful! Can't wait to watch it! Until now, I've been using the graph editor, and maybe that's the reason my movements look so robotic.

You can actually use both together.  If you make the basic movements in the graph editor, you can then go to the motion editor afterward and smooth/retime there.  Gives the benefits of both.

Going to have some more free time later this afternoon, so I think I'll do some experimentation using your advice here.

Is Dash your favorite pony? You seem to use her a lot for these tuts.
